Half Day Udaipur Walking Tour

Come & join me to discover the hidden areas of my city. The local neighbourhoods away from the tourist sites, where centuries old traditional crafts are still alive. Our tour starts at the Jagdish temple.

I was born & still live in Udaipur old city just below the city palace. Let me show you my ancient home city, its centuries old narrow streets, old havelis with ancient doors & windows, many houses with beautiful Mewar hand paintings adorning their walls. See the architecture of centuries old temples all around, the most famous being the Jagdish Temple.

We wander through the different areas where our local people live, work & shop, stopping along the way for photos through exotic spice & tea markets, stunning vegetable markets, and many stalls selling chai, spicy snacks and sweet treats. Here you can try the many different fruits, drink chai, eat some street food or something sweet. Passing the cloth sellers where beautiful saris, shawls and cloth can be seen hanging outside, close to our traditional wedding market.

You will see artisans making bamboo baskets, metal ware & jewellery restorers/repairers. Udaipur is famous for miniature paintings so we have many shops selling art also.

If we have time we can go to the Gulab Bagh garden, a place you may wish to stay in on your own as our tour ends. From here you are not too far from the cable car & Pichola Lake.
My tour is relaxed & and informal, interacting with local people along the way. Please take time for any photos you wish to take or ask any questions you may have. You will not be harassed by sales people as I am with you.
